Registration is from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and is $25.00 per bike. This includes one hand of poker and lunch. T-shirts and head wraps will be given to the first 40 registered. Best Hand wins $300 and Worst Hand wins $100! Stops on the ride: Warren Co. Court House, Rock Mill Plantation, Gibson Business District, and The Club Tavern. All proceeds go to Hometown Warrenton, Inc., specifically supporting local children’s activities, such as The Mentoring Program and the Warren, Let’s Read Together Program. This year a 2008 Roketa Scooter will be raffled off. Tickets are $5.00 each. Following the ride, a George Brister Benefit Pig-Pickin’ will be held at The Club Tavern.
July 29, 2010 - The team in charge of developing the Oldcastle Materials site in Warren County hosted a "meet and greet" at the Community Services Center to update the community on progress of this large development, and to allow people to ask questions about the company and the project. There is a meeting planned for there at 7:00 p.m., we will have the concert from 5-7. Please, remember to pack a picnic or pick up take-out if you want supper at the concert. We won't have a food vendor. You can still bring a lawn chair if that would be more comfortable for you. Otherwise, you can sit on the metal chairs or wooden bleachers. Our kick-off Concert in the Park is this Thursday, May 20th, in City Park (on South Norwood Street). Instead of 6-8, the concert will be 7-9. Nick Edelstein (www.nickedelstein.com) will be bringing his band from Atlanta, and they need a little extra time to get to Warrenton. Please plan to come out and have a late supper or just enjoy the concert after supper... you can bring some dessert! There will not be a food vendor in the park, but you can pick up eats at Stop & Go Snack Shop, Mayberry's, K's Wings, Kendrick's Q or Lin's Wok. See you at the park for some great times and fab music!

Update! Concertgoers enjoyed a beautiful evening with food from local restaurants. The band played a wide variety of original music from their CDs, and also great covers of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana and other blues, rock, funk, and fusion music.

New this 1st Saturday is Warrenton's B&D Open Market, which is located between H & R Block and The Clipper office. We will no longer be offering side walk spots along Main Street. Instead, we encourage you to set up a booth in the Open Market area. It is a central place in downtown Warrenton, making it easier for folks to come and shop and for you to sell. If you are interested in a booth, please call Chris or Kathleen at 706.465.1081. Remember, also, that we have other retail shops in Warrenton offering deals. There's no need to leave town this weekend when Warrenton is where it's going on!
